Some, if not the majority, of you all know our rainbow baby, Hendrix Williams, was born with an extremely rare heart condition: Branch Pulmonary Artery Stenosis, and was diagnosed with Hypertension at just a day old. For those that don’t know what that is, it’s where one of his arteries that branches off to his heart is extremely narrow, causing very little blood flow to get to his heart, resulting in one side of his heart to work 4x its limit. His cardiologist has determined that open heart surgery would be needed in order for Hendrix to live a somewhat normal life, and the time has approached. Talks about the surgery was brought up when he was 6 months old. Hendrix hit his 6 months mark, and by the grace of God, he was stable, but ended up needing to get a procedure done where a balloon was needed to be placed in his veins to expand the vein in order for proper blood flow. During the procedure, the Dr.s noticed that the narrowing of his arteries was far more severe than anticipated. Thus the need for open heart surgery. Fast forward to now, our little warrior is about to receive his first battle scar. It’s been a long journey and process for both Brandon and I, as one of us has had to stop our careers to take time out to care for Hendrix and make sure his immune system is strong to prep him for this major surgery. We’ve been dealing with insurance difficulties to make sure that the procedure is covered. We’ve even had to find the RIGHT doctor that we could trust and feel comfortable giving the okay to put our son’s life in their hands LITERALLY. We’ve been dealing with everything good and bad that comes with preparing for something like this. It has not been easy mentally and emotionally, but we know with God on our side and the genuine support, we will conquer this! With all that being said, we are GENUINELY asking for any type of help we can get in preparation for this surgery. We will be traveling to Gainesville Sept 18th to have the procedure done at UF Shands Hospital, but Hendrix will be staying out there for at least a couple of weeks on the road to recovery. This fundraiser will help ease the financial stress on us as we navigate through this time. Your support will go directly towards travel, lodging, and daily expenses such as food, gas, etc., while Hendrix receives the care he needs. Every contribution, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated and from the bottom of our hearts mean the world to us as we attempt to give Hendrix the life he deserves.
