Friends, family, and loved ones, Many of you know me as a mother to my two young boys, a wife, sister, daughter, cousin, and friend. One year ago this month, before my 32nd birthday, I began my journey of being a breast cancer survivor when I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Over the past year, I have poured my energy into healing. I endured six months of conventional treatment, along side many alternative therapies and with that hard work and support of my medical team and loved ones, I was blessed to receive my first clear PET scan 6 months following my diagnosis. Unfortunately, this past August, exactly one year after my diagnosis, we learned that the cancer has returned and metastasized to my lymphs and multiple areas in my bones. This past year has been humbling in every way. I’ve done everything I can to heal: countless treatments, therapies, supplements, doctor visits, blood draws, and scans. Our family has invested financially as much as possible in my care, but with these new results, we have reached a place where we need help to continue this fight. Until now, I’ve only shared my diagnosis with close family and friends. It is not easy to open up, but the reality is that we are overwhelmed with past and upcoming medical expenses and cannot carry this weight alone. I am deeply committed to continuing my fight, to love and raise my boys, to share more years with my husband and family, and to create more memories with all the wonderful people who make up our village and who I hold dearly.
