As many know, my dad, Mark Byrnes, has MDS blood cancer. He has been treating since last September and recently underwent a bone marrow transplant. He is currently in Tampa, Florida for treatment. During this time, he must stay within 30 minutes of the hospital and have a caretaker with him 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So, thankfully, my sister, Jennifer, is staying with him at a hotel. While the rate is discounted as he is a treating patient with Moffitt Cancer Center, the cost of living out of a hotel is just expensive. We have applied for several grants, but to date, have only received $100. After Mom being in the nursing home for so many years, Dad’s retirement funds just cannot sustain this. So I am coming to you all asking for help to get Dad through the next 90 or so days until he can return to my sister’s home. We are so appreciative of all our family and friends for all your thoughts and prayers. Being from a small town is such a blessing. Love, Amy and Jennifer
