We are the Herman family, and from the bottom of our hearts, we sincerely thank you for taking a moment to read our story. Beth and I have been married for 31 wonderful years and are blessed with three incredible daughters: Alexa, Julia, and Allie. On August 11th, we were shocked to learn that Beth was diagnosed with Fallopian Tube Cancer Stage 3C, an extremely aggressive form of cancer. And now, with heavy hearts but hopeful spirits, we’re leaning in for financial help from our community. We know the journey ahead will be long, challenging, and costly. The past year has brought unimaginable health and financial challenges, testing our strength and shaking us to our core. One challenging health crisis followed another, and while we’ve done everything we can to stay financially afloat, we’ve now reached a place where we must humbly ask for help. Through all of life’s ups and downs, we’ve leaned on each other with unwavering love, shared endless laughter, and built a home full of joy, positivity, resilience, hard work, and an immense amount of strength. Through it all, we’ve held on to each other, remained positive, and have kept going because we are the “Herman5”. As we enter into the unknown, we deeply appreciate any support you can give, whether it be a donation, sharing our story, or keeping us in your thoughts; it would mean the world to our family. With love and gratitude, Lee, Beth, Alexa, Julia, and Allie Beth’s Cancer Diagnosis (August 2025): Beth is the heart of our family — strong, selfless, and fiercely independent. She works as a front office manager at a medical practice, and spends her free time pouring every ounce of love and energy into her family and friends. For years, Beth managed fibroids, endometriosis, and scar tissue, but a recent ovarian cyst raised new concerns. Given her parents’ medical history — her mother’s with breast cancer and her father’s with bladder cancer — her doctor recommended further testing. MRI and PET scans revealed enlarged lymph nodes, leading to a total hysterectomy and lymph node removal on August 11, 2025. What doctors discovered during surgery was shocking and changed everything. They found a malignant tumor in her fallopian tube, and cancer that had already spread to her lymph nodes and to the peritoneum (the lining of the abdomen). Beth was diagnosed with Stage 3C Fallopian Tube Cancer, an aggressive form of cancer. We never imagined this would be the chapter we’re facing. Beth is now preparing for months of intensive chemotherapy, endless appointments, and an uncertain road ahead — all with her trademark strength, courage, and grace. We’re sharing Beth’s story not only to ask for your support, but also as a reminder to prioritize your health and screenings. Without her doctor’s persistence, this cancer may have gone undetected until it was too late. Lee’s Open-Heart Surgery (December 2024): Just months before Beth’s diagnosis, I faced a life-threatening health emergency of my own. After months of feeling very sick, I learned in late 2024 that I had endocarditis. This severe infection destroyed my aortic valve and spread throughout my body, including lesions on my brain. On Christmas Day, I had emergency open-heart surgery, spending 31 grueling days in the hospital fighting for my life. The road to recovery was difficult: months of daily IV antibiotics, cardiac rehab, and an unexpected setback that sent me back to the hospital on my birthday. It was one of the darkest and scariest seasons of our lives, but today I’m eight months into recovery — and every single day feels like a blessing I don’t take for granted. Why We’re Asking for Help: The weight of my medical bills has already taken a heavy toll on our family, and with Beth’s treatments just beginning, the financial strain is overwhelming. The chemotherapy prescribed will leave her unable to work full-time, making it impossible to keep up with the mounting costs of care, everyday living expenses, and the uncertainty of what lies ahead. This is not a road we ever imagined walking, but it is one we cannot walk alone. We are asking for help so that Beth can focus on what matters most: healing, fighting, and remaining strong through this journey with our daughters by our side. Every bit of support, whether through donations, prayers, or simply sharing our story, brings us one step closer to lifting the financial burden off Beth’s shoulders and allowing her to put all of her energy into the battle for her health. How Your Support Will Help: Your donations, no matter the size, will directly support our family during this journey. How Funds Will Be Used: Beth’s Ongoing Cancer Treatment Costs Lee’s Cardiac Care Medical Bills Loss of Income Replacement Prescriptions & Medical Supplies Household Support With all our love and gratitude, thank you for being part of our story and helping us focus on healing and hope.
