Emergency Aid for Hala and Family

My name is B. Xochi, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my dear friend Hala and her family in Gaza, who are fighting every day just to survive. The Alqassas family is a family of 7. Pictured is Hala’s brother, Mohammed, who is 10 years old and has been severely malnourished.
Their home was completely destroyed in an airstrike, and they have been displaced more times than they can count. They’ve lost everything, shelter, belongings, safety, and they are now living in extremely dangerous and inhumane conditions. Every day is a struggle to find food, clean water, warmth, and security. These are Hala’s words, describing what life is like for her family right now: “Life is difficult for me and my family. The house was bombed. We are crying from the bombing, me and my family. We live in a very bad situation. I hope for help to buy food for my family. We ate very little. The dream of my life is for me and my family to buy a bag of flour. I hope we will buy it. The dream of my life for me and my family.” This is the heartbreaking reality for so many families in Gaza. But this fundraiser is to support Halas family directly and give them a real chance at survival and safety. Prices for basic necessities have skyrocketed with the border being closed and aid not being allowed in. A single bag of flour can cost over $1000. Clean water is scarce. Hygiene products and medical supplies are nearly impossible to find. They are living without electricity, without warmth, and without access to safe shelter. There is also a new baby on the way as Hala’s brother’s wife is pregnant. Medicine and food are desperately needed. This fundraiser will help cover: * Food and clean water * Formula, diapers, and clothing for the baby on the way. * Warm clothing, blankets, and hygiene supplies * Rent or shelter support * Medicine her parents desperately need * Evacuation if the opportunity becomes available
