Many of you would know that our Dad, Ace Esguerra, has been battling health issues for some years now. What you are probably not aware of is that recently, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Having worked in the pharmaceutical industry his entire career, we are sure as his colleague, you would know how ruthless this disease can be.

Currently, he is under the care of medical professionals and in hospital. He is fighting to stay but as we all know, these situations can be difficult and in most cases, an impossible battle.

As his children, we are all pulling our resources together so he receives the medical care and attention he needs. Having said that, there is a limit to our resources especially in this economic environment and cost of living crisis.

We know Ace has touched a lot of lives especially at the peak of his career He was a mentor, a guru and a friend. If you are one of them, we hope you can find it in your heart to support us during this very difficult time. No amount is too small. Every cent will go a long way in keeping him comfortable until the time comes when he’s ready to go.

You can send your donation through this site or directly transfer the amount to any of the following, depending on your location:

Philippines: GCash 0917 8500 323 Australia: PayID 0404 796 451 Singapore: PayNow 86 207 121

NOTE: This site processes donations in AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS.

Last night, the team of specialists looking after our father, , called a family conference.

I’m not going to lie, when he was first admitted, we did not have high hopes. He has a tumor in his upper pancreas close to his small intestine. This tumor has been pressing into his bile duct, keeping his bile from draining down through the pancreas to the intestine.

This eventually sent him into a septic shock which prompted his admission to hospital. Most of you in his network of friends, being in the pharmaceutical industry, would understand from this information that the odds are stacked against him.

Despite these odds, one by one, last night, each specialist provided an update on his kidneys, his blood pressure, his heart, his infection, etc. Each one giving stats that indicated significant improvements and how truly happy each specialist was.

One thing that resonated most to us after this conference was that …

. .

We want to give him all the support possible in this fight. This means going through procedures that will give him more time. Taking things one step at a time.

Having said that, the economics side of this remains a challenge for all of us. So, we continue to appeal to his network of friends and our family. As you can imagine, having been admitted for a couple of weeks back in January and over 10 days this time in ICU, we are a long way from our target. So, no amount is too small.

For direct donations, you can course it thru any of the following depending on your location, with GCash as our preferred method among those in the Philippines:

We also would like to encourage you to post messages for him and it would be our absolute pleasure to read them to him.

My sister, Elline, flew home from Texas over the weekend and my sister, Karen, from Singapore yesterday. Since her arrival, Elline has been visiting him daily and we could see he was visibly delighted by this and his responsiveness improved. Through these visits, we also read the messages posted for him in our fundraising page [ , ℎ . , ℎ ℎ, ℎ ℎ ].

.

Based on the improvements seen in his condition, he is now first in line to be moved out of the Intensive Care Unit and into a regular room. If you would like to visit him, we would encourage it. We will update you as soon as the move happens.

While we are still a long way from our target funds, we have already received quite a generous amount of donations. To all of you who have dug deep into your pockets, we are truly grateful. We are currently reconciling everything, and we would like to personally thank each one of you once things settle.

For now, thank you to all of you for your support. It is a true testament to how much he has touched a lot of people’s lives.

How will I ever forget Ace for what he jokingly said in a big crowd about me “To Xxxx, I can entrust my wife to him”.
