Ahmad has been displaced from his home in Gaza and after evacuating for urgent medical treatment, he is now in Leros Refugee Camp in Greece, still waiting to finish his medical treatment. Now he is trying to reunite with his wife and child who are still trapped in Gaza. I will let Ahmad tell his story now:

“My name is Ahmad. I am a Palestinian from Gaza — a father, a survivor, and a human being still holding on to hope.

I write to you today not just as someone in need, but as someone who has endured what no one ever should.

In April 2024, I was forced to leave Gaza — not by choice, but by necessity. I was suffering from severe pain in my lower back, knees, and neck. Two months before the war began on October 7, I underwent radiofrequency procedures in Egypt, hoping to heal. But when the war erupted, everything collapsed.

Bombs. Fear. Displacement. Interrupted treatment. My condition deteriorated.

I spent seven unimaginable months trapped under constant bombing in Gaza, moving endlessly from place to place in search of safety. The toll on my body and soul was indescribable. Thanks to the generosity of a few kind friends, I was finally able to escape on April 25, 2024, and return to Egypt.

But the struggle was far from over.

In Egypt, I underwent multiple medical treatments, including minimally invasive spinal surgery, physiotherapy, and more radiofrequency procedures. Just thr
