My name is Amir, and I am from the Gaza Strip. I am 20 years old.

Amid the severe blockade and famine in Gaza, I went out one day searching for food for my family of 11, including 5 children. We had no source of income and no means to secure our daily meals.

While I was there, the occupation army opened fire indiscriminately on everyone trying to get food. I was shot in the right side of my head, causing a severe skull fracture. If it were not for God’s mercy and the quick actions of my friends, I would not have survived. They moved me to a safe place, stopped the bleeding by tying my shirt around my head, and one of them managed to bring a stretcher to transfer me to the nearest hospital.

When I arrived, I was in critical condition with dangerously low blood levels (8), and I immediately required blood transfusions. I underwent a complex head surgery that lasted between 6 to 8 hours, after which I was moved to the intensive care unit, where I remained for more than a week under anesthesia, connected to medical devices and oxygen.

After waking up, I was transferred to a private ward, but I was unable to speak or eat. My nutrition was delivered through a tube from my nose to my stomach. Over time, I gradually regained my ability to speak, but doctors discovered that I had lost all movement on the left side of my body.

Today, I am in urgent need of intensive physical therapy abroad, as Gaza lacks the necessary medical capabilities and expertise. I also require special treatments and proper nutrition, both unavailable here due to the blockade. Additionally, I need reconstructive skull surgery to close the opening in my head — a very expensive procedure that is too risky to perform in Gaza but can be done safely abroad.

I hope to have the opportunity to receive treatment outside the Gaza Strip, just like others who have been able to complete their recovery, so that I can regain my life and hope once again ♥️ Thank you for donating, my friends, it means everything to me ♥️
