Hello, friends. Our names are Aleyda and Vai, and we are close friends of Jad’s family. Help Jad & His Family, who currently live in northern Gaza, originally from Gaza City.
Hello, my name is Jad. I am 24 years old from northern Gaza, and I’m a third-year medical laboratory student. I have a daughter, Nour, who is 1 year and 8 months old. She lost her mother five days after birth, and I now care for her.
I also take care of my orphaned nieces and nephews, my sister who suffers from severe psychological distress after losing her child and husband, and my elderly aunt who has had a stroke and needs weekly medical treatment.
Life in Gaza is extremely hard. • Food is scarce and expensive. Nour and the children I care for do not get enough fruits, vegetables, or nutritious food. • Water is limited and often unsafe to drink. • Illness is common due to unsafe living conditions. Nour suffers from malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies affecting her growth and muscles. My family and I fall sick often, and medicine is costly.
I lost my income, and we have been surviving in these harsh conditions for a year. Yet we hold on to hope and dream of rebuilding our lives outside Gaza for a safer and healthier future.
