“I am Asmaa Al-Huwaiti, I am a 29 year old mother of 3 and I am currently pregnant. My children are 6, 4, and 1.5 years old. I am from Shujaia, G@z@, displaced in the south, in the Deir al-Balah area in Khama on the shore of the sea, and my situation is very difficult.

My husband was severely injured before the war when a beam fell from the roof of the house on the second floor, and he is struggling.

We are dying of hunger and fear. I live on raw materials without a bathroom. My children are working in the street. Please help us, we are dying slowly.”

-Asmaa, age 29, Deir al-Balah

Asmaa and her family’s greatest needs and concerns are food, water, sanitation, and clean shelter for her and her children.

G@z@ is reaching an extremely critical point in the ongoing g*noc*d* where forced starvation, disease, and dehydration are beginning to deeply set in–we must act together as quickly as possible.

We are hoping to contribute at least $150 a week to start to meet their immediate crisis needs, and are asking for those donating to consider contributing monthly or weekly starting at $5 – $20. Please consider donating whatever you can, sharing his story with your circle, and amplifying his fundraiser in order to support Asmaa and her family while they continue to fight to stay alive. Together we can give them some very small glimmer of hope in the darkest times imaginable.

I’m Emily, one of the organizers with PDX Pigeon Mutual Aid. We’re a small team of friends and organizers located in Portland Oregon, and we provide direct support to families in G@za that have been displaced & are facing the most dire and dangerous conditions on our planet right now.

Each family we support has been verified by video chat, phone call, and a P@lestian ID, or through an already verified friend or family member, or through some combination of the above. You can learn more by visiting our instagram, @pdxpigeonmutualaid .

Our hope is to always try to connect families in G@z@ with as many other on-the-ground organizations as possible, but we are seeing more and more that getting aid from these groups is sometimes impossible and very dangerous in terms of traveling to find these groups and actually connecting with these groups in the first place. While NGOs still offer some forms of aid on the ground, many of them continue to have their aid compromised, stripped, halted, or destroyed before getting into G@z@, so the only actual guaranteed form of support right now is direct donations.

Our mutual aid group will do our best to offer updates and transparency reports that you can access.

Thank you so much for your care, your donations, your solidarity and support! You are truly saving lives.

With much gratitude,

– Asmaa, Emily and PDX Pigeon Mutual Aid

This month has been especially difficult for Asmaa and her family. In this photo, Asmaa’s daughter cries because they only have one shekel left, and she wants to buy Indomie instant noodles.

Currently, with high food prices, Asmaa needs approximately $200 to feed her whole family for one day. They all depend on your generosity. Thank you so, so much to everyone who has donated to Asmaa this month. Asmaa and her dear children and husband implore you to remember them as this g3n0c1d3 continues. No donation is too small.

Asmaa would also like the world to remember her sister, Hayat, who has three children of her own and husband to feed. Asmaa would like to share some of the money she receives from her campaign with her sister so that she, too, can keep her family alive. Please keep these women and their families in mind as we continue through the latter half of the year.

Thank you all for your support thus far! Follow her on Instagram: @paradisegazaa

Asmaa needs your help now more than ever. Her husband still requires medicine to recover from bullet wounds after the occupation shot him. Even more, if her family evacuates from the north—which they hope to be able to do—they need about $700 for food and transportation. Asmaa, her husband, and her three children—Najah, Kamla, and Wael—all thank you from the bottom of their hearts for all the support they’ve received since the start of this war. They ask that the world doesn’t forget them or the people of G*z* as bombings in the north of G*z* don’t stop. Any amount you can provide goes a long way. Thank you all for continuing to stand with Asmaa.

Asmaa and her family are in desperate need for evacuation funds. They currently live in northern Gaza but have just received another evacuation order from the occupation, telling them to move to the south (see photo). Please help Asmaa move her family! Bombings and gunfire are constant all around them. In order to move, they need $700 for transportation, plus commission. Any support you have to offer will go so far–please help save Asmaa’s family!
