Hello, my name is Megan and I’m fundraising on behalf of Awad Hani Hamad, a 28-year-old man from Jabalia Camp in northern Gaza. Before the war, Awad worked in construction and sold items from a fridge cart to support his family. His brother worked as a blacksmith. They didn’t have much, but they worked hard and lived with dignity.

Then the war came—and they lost everything.

Their home, a two-storey building, was destroyed in the early days of the bombing. Awad had been slowly building one of the flats for himself. His brother, wife, and two young daughters lived in the other. Now, nothing remains.

Today, Awad lives with seven family members—his brother, sister-in-law, their two daughters (just one and a half and three years old), and his two sisters. There is no income. Food is scarce. They rely on dangerous trips to the sea or aid points, sometimes gathering enough to buy a little flour. Most days, they go hungry.

To make matters worse, Awad’s cousin was badly burned in a recent bombing. His cousin’s mother—Awad’s uncle’s wife—was also seriously injured in the attack and now struggles to walk. Both are in urgent need of care, but medical supplies are nearly impossible to access in northern Gaza. The family cannot afford burn creams, bandages, or treatment.

Despite everything, Awad remains determined. He told me:

“Before the war, I was saving to get married. Now I just want to feed my family.”

He is asking for help—not with shame, but because he has no other choice.

Funds will go toward:

Food, clean water, and baby needs

Medical treatment for his cousin and uncle’s wife

Shelter repair or materials

Essential supplies for survival

Please, if you’re able, stand with this family. Even a small donation can make a real impact in Gaza, where families are starving and forgotten.

They have nothing left. Your compassion could mean everything.
