Hello, I am Aya, am a mother of four young children, carrying their burdens on my shoulders in the most difficult circumstances a mother in this world can experience.
Since the war began, our home, our only shelter, was destroyed. Since that day, we have been living a harsh journey of displacement. We have moved from one place to another more than six times, searching for safety but finding none, and fleeing the bombing, but it never leaves us.
Each time we are displaced, we leave behind what remains of our belongings. We carry only what our small hands can hold, and we move on in endless fear and sadness. My children ask me every day, “Mama, when will we return home?” and I find no answer, because the truth is too harsh to be told.
Today, we live a life filled with suffering… no home to protect us, no food to suffice, and no medicine for my children if they get sick. Hunger knocks on our doors daily, fear never leaves our hearts, and bombing surrounds us from every direction. I feel helpless as I see my children crying from the cold and hunger, and I have nothing to offer them except my embrace, which is no longer enough to protect them from the cruelty of life.
My story is the cry of a mother who has lost everything, and is left with nothing but the mercy of kind hearts.
Please help me, even if it’s just a little… Every hand extended to us could save my children’s lives and restore a glimmer of hope in the midst of this darkness.
