Hi guys, My name is Vanessa Lewis. My daughter, husband, and I live on a ranch in Arizona. There, our lives are dedicated to saving animals. I recently got injured and ended up giving up my job and pretty much everything that makes me happy. I was bitten by a dog and broke two fingers and needed skin grafts and drainage. My daughter, Iris, injects the PICC line every 12 hours and should do so for at least 6 weeks. But luckily for me, she was a true champion. Unfortunately, my dominant hand was injured, I couldn’t take care of myself and had to close the shop door. My family and I have been rescuing animals in Arizona for about 10 years. These include horses rescued from the slaughterhouse, dogs rescued from the slaughterhouse from shelters, cats, and even birds rejected by their previous owners. The list will continue to grow. On top of that, a colony of mother cats and their kittens recently took up residence in the garage. We are desperate to provide them with food and shelter until we get home.
