URGENT MUTUAL AID REQUEST!

We are a family from Gaza, consisting of seven members, including five children, and this is my story.

I write to you today with a heavy heart, under the weight of destruction and suffering. I write to you from beneath a torn tent that offers no protection from the scorching heat of the day or the bitter cold of the night. I write to you from a place where hope is fading, and survival has become a daily battle. I beg you to listen to the cry of a mother longing to save her children.

Before the war, we lived a simple and peaceful life, filled with love and dreams of a better future. After twenty long years of waiting, we finally managed to build a small home for our family. That home—our dream—was destroyed in seconds by the bombing. We lost everything and became homeless and desperate.

Since the beginning of the war, we have been forcibly displaced more than ten times, moving from one place to another in search of safety. But in Gaza, there is no truly safe place. My children have been deprived of everything: education, play, nutritious food, medical care—and most importantly, safety. We live in a tent with none of life’s basic necessities. We are suffering from extreme poverty and hunger. We cannot afford food or medicine.

My children carry water in gallons from distant places and stand for hours in line at charity kitchens, only to return empty-handed. Their health is deteriorating due to malnutrition. They have all contracted acute hepatitis due to poor hygiene and the spread of disease. They are surrounded by insects, filth, and danger.

I appeal to every compassionate heart, every humanitarian organization, and every person who has the ability to help: Please support us. We are in urgent need of food, clean water, medicine, clothing, and safe shelter for our children. We need a chance to survive, to live with dignity, and to regain hope. We are not asking for much—just the minimum to stay alive.

Please, help us feel that we are not alone. Help us protect our children. Help us rebuild our lives. Please… help us survive. Help us restore our humanity.

With all the hope that still remains in my heart despite the pain, I place this plea in your hands and pray it reaches your hearts.

Dearest ,

Last night, I was outside with my husband and children. Thank god we were outside. I can’t even comprehend how we were so lucky. It was by shear chance that I did not lose my family and my life.

In the few short moments we were away, missiles struck our house. Twenty-three people were inside. They were all relatives of my husband: cousins, siblings, wife, father, children, all martyred, may they rest in peace. All but one, my niece, who I have since taken in as my own child. We pulled her out of the bloody rubble, soaked with the blood of her entire family.

Twenty- two martyrs. Twenty-two relatives. Infinite memories. Infinite dreams, trapped under the rubble, or maybe there weren’t any dreams left at all.

Now we are without a home, without 22 relatives, and without money to make any partial recovery. What are we to do? What can we do? I have yet another mouth to feed but even less resources to feed them. Nonetheless, I swear to nourish my children, no matter the circumstance.

My beloved , I beg for anything you can give me. Also, if any of you are willing to provide more than financial support, please contact my campaign manager via email at [email protected] for a means to provide my family with support that may be even more valuable.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all of you, for all the support you have given. It warms my cold heart when I think of your love. My family is still breathing thanks to you.

With great gratitude,

the Wafaa Family
