Hi! I am raising funds for my friend Ilham in Gaza, who had to close her original Go Fund Me campaign due to bank issues. Please read her words below, and donate and share widely!
“I wish that you will read this letter from the bottom of your heart.
Hello I’m Ilham Bilbeisi…a small fighter from Gaza (The War Land ).
I’m writing this letter to ask you for help so you will be saving the lives of 7 amazing family members and our cat, Nay. We lost so much in this war, the most important being our home, and our father’s leg—he was injured in the beginning of this war. Everyone of us lost so many people, so many lovely things.
My Family members:
Mahmoud 48: the father
Sabrin 42: the mother
Ilham 23: the author of this letter, Laboratory Medicine student at Alazhar school .
Atef 22: the eldest boy
Amal 20: the sister, Secretary student at AlAqsa school
Fathi 17: high school student
Mohammed 6: cannot study at any school because they have bombed all the schools in this city
We’re educated, having our work, lives, and so many dreams before unfathomed terror that we have been living day in and day out for the last 500 days. At this moment the war on Gaza is not over, so the only way to save us from this madness and holocaust is by evacuation via Rafah border, which costs 7000-10000$ per person.
My father is a police officer who was hit by a missile while on duty. A artery was severed in his thigh and eventually resulted in amputation of his leg. He is now in urgent need of a prosthetic limb to continue his life almost normally and be able to walk.
My mother is a simple homemaker who works hard for us all to grow up in good health in a safe environment, so that we can become successful and grow up under the fire of war. She deserves to live the rest of her life in safety.
Me, I’m the oldest. I’m studying Medical Laboratory Science at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, 4th level. I started in my graduation year before the war destroyed my university after October 7th. There’s no place left for my dreams in Gaza.
My older brother Atef works in the aluminum industry, and he used to work day and night to save money to build a home & a family. Today, he is without a home or job & he feels like he has lost all his dreams for a better life. I hope he finds the strength and help to overcome these difficulties.
Amal’s sister, who is 20yo, was in her first year of studying Administrative Secretarial at Al-Aqsaa College before the war destroyed it. All of her dreams were shattered. It’s worth mentioning that she was about to get engaged before the war, but her boyfriend was killed. It’s like that for all Gazan people.
Fathi (17yo) and Mohammed(6yo), are children. They deserve to live in a safe environment like other children in a safe city & attend school there.
We were forced to leave our home, and our city several times. Now we’re in Gaza City without a home and without shelter. We are living in a small tent using one bathroom with 68 persons from the big Bilbeisi family.
I must tell you that:
My original campaign was on Go Fund Me. We raised $55,000 before my friend’s bank account stopped receiving money, so my friend Wendy made this campaign to get what we need to escape and complete my father’s treatment.”

Hello everyone! I want to update you and let you know Ilham’s wonderful brother Fathi was shot in the thigh as he was trying to get aid from one of the GHF sites. The wound is very large and he has not been able to receive proper treatment. The family was able to get painkillers for him, but they do not replace the procedures he needs to make sure he can heal. Please help Ilham and her family raise some extra funds to make sure he can get the care he needs. Fathi has been a huge lifeline to this family, as he has been working tirelessly to get them the resources they need to survive. With him disabled, they are struggling even more than they were before. Every single donation, no matter how small, can help him, and them! Thank you so much, and love to you all.
