Help Jude Duval’s Fight for New Lungs and Heart
Story
In support of Jude Duval and Family
Unknown to many but very few immediate family, our dad was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) in September, 2023. The last 20 months have been riddled with doctor visits, tests, and procedures such as bronchoscopies, lung biopsies, and CT scans, to name a few. Having been referred to specialists all over in Rheumatology, Pulmonology, Infectious Disease, and Cardiology, doctors were unable to discover the source of his fibrosis. Our dad’s lung disease is now at the end stage. His lungs worsened to the point where Dr. Joseph Lasky referred him to Baylor St. Luke’s in Houston for a bilateral lung transplant evaluation. While undergoing his final heart catheterization last week, doctors discovered that his heart has become compromised and now needs a quadruple heart bypass surgery. He was admitted, and remains impatient with our mom by his side. Surgeons want to do the bypasses simultaneous with the double lung transplant.
We felt the overwhelming, but humble need, to reach out to our community for any assistance that you can provide. My parents’ immediate need for assistance would be used for housing, medicines, missed work, food, gas, and bills while in Houston. Our parents also continue to help three of us with college and living expenses beyond TOPS.
Our dad lives his life willing to help others, even at his own expense. He would do anything for anyone, or their families. He has completed many parent volunteer work hours at our high school, even with his breathing difficulties and diagnosis. Anyone who knows him knows he is the jokester and life of the party, and was always one of the loudest on the field supporting us kids in our sporting endeavors.
My parents now need your help, we all do. We humbly ask that you consider donating financially if you are able. If you are unable, we would greatly appreciate your sharing this story and keeping our family in your prayers. This would mean more to us than words could ever express.
We have watched our mom sacrifice everything to be there and take care of my dad during these times. We siblings want to give her an opportunity to have peace and less worries throughout this journey to come.
We extend our love to each and every one of you in our lives. Please accept our sincere gratitude for reading this in its entirety. We will post updates on his progress.
