Help Maggie fight rare breast disease
Story
Hello, friends!
I am stepping out of my comfort zone with this, but I have finally recognized that I need help, and there is no shame in asking for such.
The last week of December and the first week of January this year, I was given a mammogram and breast ultrasound due to finding a very large, painful mass in my right breast. While doing the ultrasound, 7 other lumps were found between both breasts, and one in my armpit. I was then brought back a week later for a biopsy on the site. I am extremely grateful that this is not cancerous. I was diagnosed with focal and acute inflamed benign breast parenchyma as well as with an extremely rare breast disease: Cystic Neutrophilic Granulomatous Mastitis. There is very little known about this disease, and there is no known cure. My doctor decided to do a breast-conserving lumpectomy to put me into remission and begin my fight with this. On January 24th, I had my lumpectomy, where a 13-gram mass was removed from my breast. I was lucky enough to have my dear friend Samantha D’shay come up from Louisiana to stay with me during this time and help me with bills and take care of Vada. However, I am still struggling even months later, and am asking for help with catching up on bills, mortgage, and preparing for my next round of breast exams coming in June. I am still dealing with insurance, as my emergency insurance ended. This has been a whirlwind for me mentally and physically, and I’ve finally decided to stop making it worse for myself mentally and ask for help. I love you all, thank you for taking the time to read my story, and I appreciate any help in any form. I know times are rough for everybody right now, and anything helps.
