Help Mahmoud Ismail and His Family Survive Starvation
United States
We are a family of five from Gaza. We lost our home, my job, and my husband’s job—our dreams were shattered by this war. We used to have a warm and loving home, and our children went to school. I truly loved our life.
But then the curse of October 7th came. Our home was destroyed, I lost my job, and my children have been out of school for two years. We were displaced from Gaza to Nuseirat, then to Rafah, and after the evacuation of Rafah, we returned to Nuseirat.
When the ceasefire began, we were so happy—we returned to Gaza. But sadly, it was no longer the Gaza we once knew. Everything was gray and lifeless. We rented an apartment at an outrageous price, and it was barely livable.
Despite all the suffering, we refused to ask anyone for help. But hunger overcame us. We are now living through a severe famine. The situation is heartbreaking. There is no food of any kind in the markets.
We are humbly asking anyone who can help to please do so—this is no longer just a story, it’s a humanitarian crisis.
