My name is Mohammed Ryan, and I write to you from Gaza, a land engulfed in unimaginable suffering.
On October 12th, in a frantic attempt to save a family member trapped in the chaos, I drove through roads that no ambulance could reach. In my effort to protect my loved ones, I was caught in the storm.
My body carries the scars of that day, with the most severe injury being to my hand—a hand that can no longer provide for my family.
I was a truck driver, the sole provider for my parents and siblings. But now, with my hand injured, I am unable to work.
The ability to support my family, to ensure that my mother, father, and siblings have a roof over their heads and food on the table, has been ripped away from me.
Every day, I watch as the hope we once had fades further into despair.
The war has displaced us from our home. We are refugees in our own land, constantly fleeing from one unsafe place to another, seeking shelter wherever we can find it.
Disease spreads quickly in these temporary shelters, and there is no escape from the constant threat of violence.
The fear never leaves us, and the nightmare never ends.
I have medical reports that document my condition and the urgent need for surgery abroad.
But the surgery is only part of what I seek.
My greatest wish is to find a way to get my family—my parents and siblings—out of Gaza, away from this endless war.
I dream of a place where they can live in peace, where we can start anew and rebuild our shattered lives.
Your help could mean the difference between life and despair for us. Please, from the depths of my heart, I ask for your support.
Help me save my family from this never-ending cycle of violence and give us a chance at a future.
With deep gratitude,
Mohammed Rayan
