My name is Aseel Hassanein, and I am 8 years old. The army arrested my brother and we have not heard anything about him until this moment. After that, our house was demolished on our heads and my brother Ibrahim was martyred. The Civil Defense rescued us from under the rubble. My brother Youssef suffered a fractured pelvis, a fractured skull, shrapnel in the neck and chest, and shrapnel in the head. Now he is in dire need of surgery to remove the shrapnel inside the skull, the shrapnel in the neck, and the shrapnel in the chest. My mother suffers from high blood pressure and irritable bowel syndrome, and my father suffers from a herniated disc in the spine. My martyred nephew Adam, who is no more than 6 months old. I beg you to help save my family from the deadly conditions we live in every day in the Gaza Strip. We are a large family consisting of me, my father, my mother, and my six brothers. We are all struggling to survive in the midst of a stifling and deadly humanitarian crisis that has reached unbearable levels beyond your imagination. Every day is a struggle to survive. This tragedy that we live in a state of constant fear for the future. Lack of basic resources, constant anxiety and the absence of any future horizon threaten our hopes and dreams. But with your support, we hope to raise enough money to enable us to leave the conflict zone and start over in a safe place with basic needs.
