Help Nehal’s Family Survive in Gaza
Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland
This campaign has been started on behalf of my dear friend Nehal Mansour in Gaza. All funds donated will be sent immediately to help her support her family. She has been providing for her family for the past two years, but no one has been there to help her.
Nehal had just started university in October 2023 when the invasion began. Despite the destruction of Al Aqsa University’s campus, the scarcity of internet connection, and the astronomical price of supplies, she has continued her studies through online classes as she is intent on pursuing her education even amidst the horrors being inflicted on Gaza. She has also managed to find supplies to continue her hobby of drawing, and some of her art is available to see in the images attached to this campaign. Her determination embodies the endless resilience of the Palestinian people and I feel lucky to have a friend like her.
The situation, however, is dire. Senseless bombing continues, a constant threat from which even so-called “safe zones” are not safe. The flow of aid has all but stopped, and what little aid is allowed through is handed out by trigger-happy soldiers who have been observed firing on civilian many times, making aid collection an incredibly dangerous affair. Reputable organisations like UNRWA are not currently allowed to distribute. Other aid deliveries are often stolen and resold at astronomical prices.
Earlier this year Nehal also recieved the gut-wrenching confirmation that the home her family was able to return to during the brief ceasefire has now been destroyed. They have nothing; even food and clean water are incredibly hard to come by. Your donations will help them pay for what little food is still available, and will also help pay for Nehal and her younger sister’s university fees.
These are Nehal’s words.
“I am Nehal Mansour, 19 years old, displaced from Gaza, and I have a family of 10 members. I graduated from high school a month before the war and I am currently studying at Al-Aqsa University, majoring in Business Administration, where strength comes from challenges, and creativity is born from difficulties.
This is after many attempts, including drawing and others, to confront the situation we are currently going through, and I continued despite the destruction of our city, our home, our lives, and even the days we live. Despite this, I continue and continue my education through distance learning. This is the situation we have reached.
In conclusion, I hope that you stand with me and support me in light of the current circumstances I am going through. I will be grateful to you. My greetings to you from Gaza.”

UPDATE #1 17/07/2024: Thank you so much to the early donors! The first donations have reached Nehal and she was delighted to be able to buy some fresh produce for her family. The rest of the remaining funds have been set aside for evacuation in case the crossing reopens.
UPDATE #2 17/08/2024: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support! As prices soar due to the scarcity of goods, your donations continue to help Nehal support her family. We have sent her the funds in several installments and she has assured us that they are arriving. She asks me to thank everyone who donates. Although there is no news yet on the border crossing and whether it will reopen soon, your donations are helping Nehal and her family survive the terrible conditions that are being inflicted on the people of Gaza.
UPDATE #3 06/11/2024: We are revamping the campaign images to help people get a better idea of how Nehal and her family are living currently. They prefer to avoid sharing pictures of themselves for modesty reasons but Nehal has kindly supplied several other photos for us to share. Thank you so much for your continued support.
UPATE #4 08/01/2025: New year, new look; Nehal has kindly provided a new summary and images for the campaign. Unfortunately her Tiktok was recently deleted; you can find her new one at @n.nansour0
UPDATE #5 05/07/2025: The campaign has been updated to reflect the ongoing and intensifying difficulties of just saying alive in Gaza. The situation is more dire than ever. Their home was destroyed and even if the war finally comes to an end they will be left with nothing and have to start life from scratch, a deep blow that is incredibly difficult to cope with on top of the struggles of everyday life.

Photos include a picture of her family’s apartment before and after the bombing, some of Nehal’s art, their tent, the view from the tent, and a moment of celebration from just before the war.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
