Greetings to all who believe in new beginnings!

My name is Remas Abu Al-Kombuz. I am a 12-year-old artist. I and my sister Toleen, 7 years old, are from Gaza. Our lives were once filled with hope and dreams in the heart of Gaza City. But they were turned upside down by a relentless war that began on October 7, 2023, transforming our vibrant lives into a daily struggle for survival.

I, Remas, am a talented young artist with a magical paintbrush that tells stories through vibrant colors. My dream is to be a doctor and a world-renowned artist, portraying the beauty of life and reflecting the cause of my people. Toleen, with her kind heart and talent for acting, dreams of being an engineer and a great actress to bring joy to others.

Family Story

Our family home in Gaza, once a haven of laughter and love, now stands fractured and marred by the relentless touch of war. Every corner of destruction around us is a stark reminder of the peace and tranquility that now seem like distant dreams.

Within these broken walls, my family, including my parents, siblings, and young nephews, clings to fragments of hope.

In Gaza, the birthplace of my dreams and art, the scenery has been permanently altered by war. This conflict has taken from us much more than our homes and familiar surroundings; it has also robbed us of cherished friends. Each loss has taken a toll on my spirit, gradually fading the future I had imagined for myself and my family in these turbulent times.

Before the war, my father, Rafat, worked in the fabric trade, ensuring a comfortable life for us. The conflict destroyed his business, leaving him jobless and dependent on food aid. My mother, Fatin, devoted herself to our education and well-being.

Our eldest brother, Ahmed, graduated in accounting from Al-Quds Open University, while Youssef, skilled in handicrafts, worked in a sewing factory with dreams shattered by the conflict. Mohammed, an IT student and freelancer, faced work interruptions due to the war. Diana and Madelin, both married with children, are university graduates. Ghadeer, our diligent sister, worked as a freelance translator but is now jobless due to the war.

We live with the constant fear of getting lost in the rubble or succumbing to the relentless barrage of rockets. The university where my sisters and brothers studied now lies in ruins, a poignant symbol of our broken aspirations. Toleen and I, once eager to embark on our educational journey, now stand at a crossroads, our paths to learning and growth obscured by the debris of war.

Where We Live Now

We now live in a tent in Rafah with our parents, Rafat and Fatin, and our siblings Ahmed, Yousef, Mohammed, Ghadir, Diana, and Madelin. This harsh living condition has deprived us of necessities like clean water and food. We are constantly surrounded by the threat of diseases due to poor hygiene and inadequate infrastructure.

The Campaign Goal:

As we confront this harsh reality, we are preparing to embark on a journey toward new beginnings, guided by faith and hope. The cost of this journey is indeed daunting. To relocate our family of 13 members to safety in Egypt through Hala Company, which charges $5,000 per adult and $2,500 per minor, we need to raise $57,500. This amount will cover travel expenses and the first months of living costs. The breakdown is as follows:

Passport fees ($2000) Permits & Crossing ($52,500). Source. Rent and initial settling-in expenses in Egypt: $3000

Together, let’s transform this story of loss and despair into a narrative of hope and new beginnings. Every contribution, every shared word, can pave the way toward a safer and brighter future for the Abu Al-Kombuz family.

We trust you can help: DONATE a few dollars or SHARE our campaign on social media platforms. Your support is vital in helping us achieve our dream of a safer and brighter future.

Hope Dies Last! With gratitude, Remas, Toleen, and the Abu Al-Kombuz Family from Gaza.

The north of Gaza is facing unprecedented catastrophe. Ghadeer wrote to us:

“Our area is red area, but we don’t have any place to go!”

“I think people don’t care to help my family. And honestly I’m too tired to make them do.”

Anything you can chip in will really help her, her little sisters, and their whole family survive. Thank you for your continued support.

To me, the hardest day was last Saturday. We ran out of flour, and in the market it was equal to $50 and with the commission it was $65+. Despite its high price, it was not available in the market to buy. We couldn’t buy it that day and ate lentils for lunch and dinner without breakfast.

It was so hard to us—and all people here in Gaza.

But thanks to your donations, we were able to buy flour the next day. I really appreciate your support, and I really hope you will support us now Please keep donating to us
