Help Romain pay for lifesaving treatment

My name is Ari and my uncle Romain, in Madagascar, suffers from life threatening heart disease: acute coronary syndrome and myocardial infarction. Unfortunately, no hospital in Madagascar was able to provide the specialized treatment he needed. It was therefore recommended that he be evacuated to Mauritius for urgent treatment. Thanks to donations collected from family and friends, we were able to raise enough funds for Romain to fly to Mauritius and be admitted to a private hospital on an emergency basis. The surgery Romain needed costs 17,612 euros. We were able to pay 7,976 euros directly, but the only way for Romain to finally get the surgery was to negotiate a loan with his employer to pay the remaining costs of 9,636 euros. This loan is an extremely heavy financial burden. As a reminder, 1 euro = 5,140 Malagasy ariary. After an initial wave of donations from our close circle of friends, I decided to set up this fundraising campaign to reach as many people as possible and help my uncle Romain and my auntie Lanto his wife as well as their two children. The first donation target of 9,636 euros will be used to pay the remaining surgery costs. If there is a surplus, it will be used for any additional costs (e.g. further treatment, hospital stay, transport, etc.). Thank you for your support!

Je m’appelle Ari et mon oncle Romain, à Madagascar, souffre de très lourdes maladies du coeur: le syndrome coronarien aigu et l’infarctus du myocarde. Malheureusement, aucun hôpital à Madagascar n’était en mesure de lui fournir le traitement spécialisé dont il avait besoin. Il lui a donc été recommandé d’être évacué à l’île Maurice pour des soins urgents.

Grâce aux donations collectées auprès de notre famille et amis, nous avons pu lever assez de fonds pour que Romain soit évacué à Maurice où il fut admis dans un hôpital privé en urgence. L’intervention chirurgicale dont Romain a besoin coûte 17 612 euros. Nous avons pu directement payé 7 976 euros mais pour le reste, Romain a négocier un prêt avec son employeur afin de payer les frais restants. Cela était la seule option pour que la chirurgie soit faite à temps mais ce prêt de 9,636 euros est une charge financière extrêmement lourde. Pour rappel, 1 euro = 5 140 ariary malgaches.

Après une première vague de dons dans notre entourage proche, j’ai décidé de mettre en place cette collecte de fonds afin d’atteindre le plus grand nombre de personnes possible. Et ainsi aider mon oncle Romain, ma tante Lanto sa femme, ainsi que leurs deux enfants.

Le premier objectif de donation à hauteur de 9 636 premiers euros servira à repayer les frais de chirurgie restants. Si il y a un éventuel excédent, il sera utilisé pour tout frais supplémentaires (par exemple : traitement complémentaire, séjour à l’hôpital, transport, etc.).
