My name is Isabella McEvoy, and I live in England. I know Shafiq through a mutual friend, and we communicate regularly. All donations will go directly to Shafiq to buy basic necessities for life at this time. I launched this campaign for Shafiq to replace my old fundraising campaign. These are Shafiq’s words:
Hello, I am Shafiq, a young man from the Gaza Strip. I am married and have a young daughter born during this war who is suffering from severe malnutrition. My pregnant wife may have to abort the fetus due to the lack of food and regular medication. This could put her life at risk. I am now living through the horrors of war and genocide. I lost my older brother while he was praying at the beginning of the war. After I was certain I would never forget, I lost my cousin who was martyred. After I became responsible for my elderly parents, my infant daughter who was born under critical conditions due to the war, and two younger brothers and sisters. The tyrant’s army not only killed my brothers, but also displaced us from our home and forced us to flee after completely destroying it. We now live in a tent that is unfit for habitation and offers no protection. In the summer, it is extremely hot, and in the winter, it is bitterly cold. I am going through the most difficult days of my life, constantly asking myself: “Who is next? Who will be taken from me?” “Will I stay to support my family, who has been left alone?” I cannot feed them well, nor can I provide medication for my father, who suffers from chronic illnesses and has had three cartilage surgeries and requires urgent, regular treatment; my mother, who suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes; and my sister, who suffers from asthma and has a 65% decreased respiratory rate.
We are living in a physical, emotional, and psychological war. We have no money, no food, no drink. I hope everyone will contribute to supporting a family that has lost everything, and is left with nothing but ourselves.
