Salam good people, my name is Anaïs. I am a social work student from the United States and campaign organizer for several Palestinian families (Instagram @sendlovetopalestine). I met Shahad through mutual friends in Gaza and her campaign is verified. Please read on for more information about Shahad’s situation and how to support her and her two younger brothers during this time of extreme grief and suffering. Together, we can keep hope alive for Shahad and her family.

We are a family consisting of 5 members, my father and mother, my name is Shahad Muhammad Daabs, my younger brother is two years younger than me, his name is Uday, and my younger brother is Joud. I am 16 years old, my brother Uday is 14 years old, and my brother Joud is 10 years old, and my father is 43 and my mother is 41.

On October 11, 2023, three days after the war, at 2:30 in the morning, our area was destroyed, specifically in the Bureij camp, and we lost 7 members of my family: my uncle and my cousins. On that day, my father was injured in his hand. We were displaced to shelters.

A month later, our area was bombed again. This time, my father was injured in the abdomen and had his spleen removed. His condition was extremely critical. He underwent numerous operations, but they were unsuccessful due to the lack of medical equipment.

For this reason, a referral was issued for him to receive treatment outside the Gaza Strip, as his condition was deplorable and there was no treatment available. Two weeks after the referral was issued, the Rafah border crossing was closed until today, and he has been denied treatment.

My father stayed in the hospital for more than 10 months in the European Hospital in Khan Younis and we were displaced in the place where he was treated as well.

Donate to us, be a help in time of need . In light of the difficult humanitarian conditions we are experiencing in Gaza, we need urgent support to provide food, medicine and shelter. Your donation today could save our lives, a patient waiting for treatment, or a family who has lost everything. *Every amount, no matter how small, has a big impact.
