Shahd is a 20 year old young woman who was like any other young woman in Gaza with big dreams. She was studying multimedia and looking forward to a bright future where she could build a better life for herself and her family. But the cruelty of war had other plans. Shahad’s life was turned upside down after displacement became a constant occurrence. After their home was destroyed east of Shuja’iyya neighborhood, with each forced displacement, the pain increased and her dreams began to fade. The place where she was located was targeted at that devastating moment. The dreams were shattered. The sound of the explosion and the sight of blood were enough to remove any sense of security from their hearts.
Shahad was injured in her left leg near the neck of the thigh. The pain was indescribable, but what awaited her was much worse. Due to the tragic situation in hospitals and the lack of basic supplies and equipment, she no longer has a joint and needs to have an artificial joint installed in order to be able to walk and stand on her legs again. Now Shahad is not only facing physical pain, but also facing the shattered dreams she had held onto. She is fighting to live again, hoping to receive treatment abroad and have an artificial joint installed so she can walk again on the land she loves. She longs to resume the life that was stopped to help her family rebuild their destroyed home and create a new life from the rubble.
