Help Support Bill in His Fight Against Cancer
Our dear friend Bill, a pillar of the Spencer, Iowa community, is facing one of the most difficult battles of his life. He was recently diagnosed with inoperable esophageal cancer—a life-altering diagnosis that has not only taken a toll on his health but has also prevented him from working, causing a mounting wave of medical and everyday bills.
Bill has always been the kind of man who put others first. Whether it was helping a neighbor in need, volunteering much of his time to the Grace United Methodist Church, Clay County PALS, Shrine Club and Clay County Fair to name a few, or simply offering a warm smile and a listening ear—Bill never hesitated to give, even if it meant going without himself. He has a heart of gold and a deep love for his hometown, where he’s been a constant presence in community events and local efforts to help those in need.
For most of his life, Bill has worked for the railroad, traveling far and wide with dedication and pride in his craft. It’s a job he loves and hopes to return to someday, once he gets back on his feet. Unfortunately, his health recently took a turn for the worse, and he had to be life-flighted to Avera Hospital in Sioux Falls due to serious complications from the cancer. As of now, there are still many unknowns—but what we do know is that Bill needs our prayers, love, and support more than ever.
We’re asking anyone who has ever crossed paths with Bill—or anyone moved by his story—to please consider donating. Every little bit helps take the weight off Bill’s shoulders so he can focus on healing, rather than worrying about bills and expenses. If you’re not in a position to give financially, we humbly ask for your prayers and well-wishes.
Let’s rally around Bill the way he has so often rallied around others. He has never walked away from someone in need—now it’s our turn to be there for him.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
