Story
The weekend before Mother’s Day, like many years before, we took our annual family trek to attend the 2025 Bucks County Kennel Club dog show. On Sunday morning, May 4th, Sue began to get ready for the second day of the event, and shortly afterward, she was found unresponsive. She was rushed to Princeton Medical Center, where it was discovered that she had suffered an acute left arterial ischemic stroke and a clot in the middle cerebral artery. Unable to LifeFlight from Princeton, she was transferred to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where she underwent a mechanical thrombectomy and several other procedures. For more than 24 days, Sue has continued to fight to recover and overcome many obstacles. Our family now faces the challenge of moving her closer to home to begin the long rehab journey to heal and rebuild strength. Susan will require medical transportation and other expenses to bring her home from New Jersey to Massachusetts for rehabilitation. The transportation will need to be paid for out of pocket, as it is not covered by insurance. We have been quoted prices for medical transport ranging from $4,000 to $20,000. Our mother, who has given so much to her family and others, would never ask for anything; now she needs the community’s support. Being closer to home, with family, love, and support, is the next step in her recovery. Therefore, we ask if you can help in any way, please do, and thank you so much for your generosity. Kenna, Kyla, Geralyn, and family
Update:
We cannot express the gratitude we have for you all and the amount of support you have shown our mother, us, and our extended family human and furry. Mom has shown progress in therapy sessions and may have a hopeful placement at a Berkshire Rehab, this weekend being her birthday we are crossing our fingers that we can have her closer to everyone that loves her. THANK YOU
