Help the Mousa family from Gaza survive and reunite
Australia
My name is Ellen Cliff. I live in Australia and have been in contact with a family from Gaza, Dr Shorouq and Dr Mohammed Mousa and their four children, for over a year now. Many things have changed in that time but the family is still experiencing great difficulties. I have set up this fundraiser to help provide them with much needed financial support.
Contributing to this fundraiser will provide food for Dr Mohammed Mousa and his parents and parents-in-law to prevent starvation. In addition, it will help to fund safe housing for the rest of the family in Belgium while their 6-year-old son receives treatment for a rare brain tumour. It will also help the family work towards reuniting; evacuating Dr Mohammed Mousa from Gaza.
Please read on for more information.
Dr Mohammed Mousa remains in Gaza with his parents and parents-in-law, living in a tent, separated from his wife and children while enduring bombings, starvation, and the deaths and suffering of so many friends and family. All this while, he has kept busy volunteering his skills as a doctor to care for children in clinics, which are now held in tents with limited medical supplies.

The cost of food in Gaza is extremely high as Israel is preventing food from entering (currently 2kg of flour is around US$35, with prices only increasing). Mohammed is caring for his and Shorouq’s parents, who have serious health complications made worse by fainting episodes due to starvation. Your donation will help them to survive these desperate circumstances.
Shorouq and the four children, Yusuf, Said, Yumna and Omar, were able to evacuate in April 2024. In their new home in Belgium, Omar is receiving highly specialised care for his rare brain tumour. As refugees in Belgium, the living conditions are a risk to Omar’s health, so Shorouq is also trying to raise funds to find safe housing, and also to repay loans taken out to evacuate.
[Omar and Mohammed together]
Your donation will go a long way to help alleviate the dire situation this family has been enduring. The first priority is providing food for Mohammed and the children’s grandparents so they may survive this period of extreme starvation. Next, funds will be used to pay for safe housing for the family in Belgium and to repay the loan required to evacuate the children and Shorouq. Evacuation of men to Egypt is possible again but costs an enormous US$15,000; I’m sure you can imagine how much it might mean to this family to be potentially reunited again.
Every dollar is vital. Every dollar you can contribute will make a world of difference to help this family survive. Thank you so much for your support.
