Help with Teresa’s Hospice and Funeral Expenses

Hi, I’m Shelby, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my mom and our family as we navigate the hardest chapter of her life.

In just the past few weeks, we’ve learned that her cancer has taken a very aggressive turn. It has spread throughout her abdomen and is now beginning to affect her lungs. Her kidneys are no longer strong enough to handle chemotherapy, and her medical team has told us we’ve reached the point where comfort care is the only option. We are now beginning hospice.

To know my mom is to know warmth, generosity, and deep, unconditional love. She has always had a soft spot for those in need, both people and animals. She would help a stranger on the street without hesitation, and if she had her way, our home would have been filled with every stray animal she could find. Her heart is enormous, and her love has always extended far beyond our family.

She’s also a proud grandmother to three young children: a five-year-old and two babies under the age of one. Her face lights up when she talks about them. Even now, her love for them shines through, and it’s heartbreaking to know how little time they’ve had with her. We want to make sure they grow up knowing just how much she loved them and the kind of woman she was.

My dad is a deeply proud man, and asking for help like this isn’t something he’d ever feel comfortable doing himself. But I know that if the roles were reversed, my mom would be the first one to step in for someone else. So I’m doing this for her, and for him. Especially knowing how hard the past nine weeks have been, with her in the hospital and our family trying to hold everything together.

We’re now facing the reality of not just hospital and care expenses, but also the costs of saying goodbye, something no one is ever truly prepared for. We want to honor her with the dignity she deserves, and we are humbly asking for help to do that.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward her medical and funeral expenses. Your support means we can focus on being with her in these final—and hopefully longer—days without the added stress of mounting financial worry.
