It brings me great sadness to share that on Thursday, May 29, 2025, my sister Lorena Richardson lost her battle with a rare and aggressive type of soft tissue cancer (Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma – ARMS) for a little more than three years. After four major surgeries, numerous chemotherapy and radiation sessions, and countless additional medications, the disease took everything from her. She was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend — and now, she is our angel in heaven.

Our families are experiencing unimaginable pain at this moment. On behalf of the Richardson and Loo families, I have organized this fundraiser in an effort to alleviate the stress of funeral and memorial costs.

Lorena was born in Iquitos, Peru, and raised in Miami, Florida, where she pursued studies in the nursing field and later became a Registered Nurse. During her undergraduate years, she met her life partner and true love while working at a hospital. They were married for 11 years. Together, they became parents to two young boys, ages 3 and 6. Her greatest academic achievement was earning her Master’s in Nursing. Her love for her boys was so immense that she gathered every ounce of strength imaginable to stay with us until the Kindergarten graduation of her first born.

We love you so much, Lorena. Memories of you will forever stay with us, and our deep love for you will always be carried in our hearts. Please keep our family in your thoughts — your prayers for her are deeply appreciated.

If you have any memories (photos, recorded messages, stories, videos, etc.) you would like to share, please feel free to reach out to the organizer.
