My name is Mohammed Habib, and I am a father from Gaza. My heart is heavy as I write this, but I must ask for your help for my family, for my wife, Areej Al-Bardini, and our three young children. Our oldest is just six years old.
The war has taken so much from us. A recent bombing left my beloved wife, Areej, with devastating injuries. She suffered a brain hemorrhage, a skull fracture, and paralysis on the left side of her body. Her condition is critical, and the medical treatment she desperately needs is simply not available here in Gaza.
My children, especially the little ones, are so dependent on their mother. I watch them try to understand why she cannot hold them or play with them as she once did, and it breaks me. Areej’s bravery inspires us all, but her recovery requires urgent, specialized care outside of Gaza.
We are struggling just to survive. The most immediate need is a wheelchair ($800) so we can move Areej around and to her appointments. But beyond that, we face the daily struggle for basic needs: diapers, clean water, enough food for our children, and warm clothes as winter approaches.
I am doing everything I can, but I cannot do this alone. I am a father trying to care for his family in a world turned upside down. Your support could be the difference between hope and despair for us. It would provide Areej with the medical care she urgently needs and give my children a chance at a normal life. Please, help us.
With a heavy heart and hope,
Mohammed Habib
