My name is Melissa, and I created this fundraiser to support my friend Ahmed Khedeir, his wife, and their three children in Gaza.

Ahmed was one of the first people I met in early 2024 while supporting families in Gaza. He’s remained a close friend since then, and I’ve witnessed his strength, love for his children, and unshakable hope through some of the darkest moments. This is a new campaign to replace his GoFundMe, which had some bank issues.

Funds raised here will be sent to Ahmed weekly through secure channels. I will always provide receipts—full transparency is essential to me.

Like so many families in Gaza, Ahmed has been displaced again and again, surviving without stable shelter, clean water, or regular access to food. And yet, he remains devoted to protecting his children and building a future for them.

Here is Ahmed’s story, in his own words:

“My name is Ahmed Khedeir, and I’m a father doing everything I can to keep my family alive and safe in Gaza. My wife and I have three children: Messo, Rawand, and baby Khalel, who turned one this past December. For over a year, we’ve been living in a tent, constantly displaced by bombings and evacuation orders. We’ve endured unimaginable hardships, but we hold on to hope.

For several months, we lived in a makeshift shelter held together by palm fronds, sheets, cardboard, and twine. That shelter couldn’t keep out the rain, and we often found ourselves drenched, with water pouring in from above. Now, we’re enduring freezing temperatures in our tent, struggling to keep warm. Food is scarce, and we’re in desperate need of firewood, better shelter, clothing, and the chance to give our children a better life.

Rawand fell ill with hepatitis a few months ago—a sickness that dragged on far longer than it should have due to the lack of clean food and water. I’ve suffered from kidney stones and battled the flu, all while trying to support my family with no resources at hand. Baby Khalel has spent his entire life surviving on minimal formula and bread.

Every day is a battle, but my family is my strength. We dream of a life where our children can grow without fear, without hunger, and without the constant shadow of loss. That hope is what keeps us going.”
