John Ryman and his wife are expecting twin boys. Johns wife is currently 4 months along and they’ve recently found out that these precious little babies have a rare and potentially fatal disorder called Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). It occurs in about 15% if identical twin pregnancies. It’s where the blood vessels of the babies shared placenta are connected. One baby receives too much blood and the other baby receives too little.
John and his wife are a young couple faced with a parent’s worse nightmare. This disorder is causing both babies to become very ill. Both babies could die because they are rapidly losing weight and the doctor is now saying they may have to take the babies as early as next week! Each baby weighs less than one pound.
Their finances have been drained from travel to and from the hospital and regular bills and we don’t know how much their deductible will be for the hospital stay and c-section.
This is an urgent matter and is a truly traumatizing situation for this family.
