Together we can enable Neuromuscular WA to continue improving the quality of life, happiness and wellbeing of people living with neuromuscular conditions. They are a WA charity made up of a small team of 10, who have a local connection to the North Perth Bowls Club. Imagine the frustration of wanting to run, speak freely, or even breathe deeply, but your body doesn’t quite cooperate. This is the daily reality for people living with neuromuscular conditions (NMCs). These rare diseases disrupt the communication between nerves and muscles, leading to progressive weakness and wasting. The consequences are devastating: Simple tasks like walking, talking, and even breathing become a struggle. Daily life might require wheelchairs, ventilators, specialized equipment and constant assistance, which can be very isolating. They steal precious years, significantly impacting life expectancy. That’s where Neuromuscular WA come in. They take a holistic approach to empower individuals, not just manage their condition. They guide them through complex healthcare systems, provide education and resources and help build resilience. They advocate for their rights, ensure access to essential equipment, and connect them through support programs. These services work alongside medical treatments, forming an approach that achieves better overall health outcomes and creates opportunites for them to connect with others in similar circumstances. The big weekend is here! We are so grateful for all of the incredible donations and support we have received so far. We’d love to keep the momentum going and hit that $55,000 target we set ourselves!
