Please support Reanna in her fight against stage 4 cancer.
Story
Hello everyone!!!! Reanna and I aren’t new to GoFundMe. In December of 2022, my wife Reanna was diagnosed with stage 4 vulvar cancer and was told that she had just months to live unless she chose to undergo some harsh radiation and chemotherapy. She made the choice to fight and received 40 rounds of radiation and chemotherapy. We live in Beaufort, NC, and have to travel to Wilmington (about a 2 and a half hour drive) for Reanna to receive her treatments. In addition to chemotherapy (which takes several hours), she also has oncology and gastroenterology appointments. In October of last year, she had a PET scan, and the results showed another malignant growth in her inguinal lymph nodes with an SUV max of 2.0. After this test, she received more chemotherapy, a very intense form that is nicknamed, “The Red Devil.” This treatment made her very ill! Nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, and unable to eat or even smell certain foods. In addition to all this, she developed an inflamed and swollen bile duct. They placed a stent, which seemed to help. But after several weeks, she passed the stent and is back to the nausea. On May 21st, she had another PET scan and the results weren’t good. In spite of the intense chemo, the scan showed a mass that had doubled in size. The oncologist said that the cancer isn’t going away without a miracle. So we are at stage 4 and she wants to hit her with more chemo just to see if they can keep the tumor at bay and in a static state in hopes that it will buy Reanna some more time. But the oncologist pretty much said that it’s just about quality of life at this point. So, Reanna is also meeting with palliative care to keep her comfortable and not in as much pain. Sometimes we have to stay the night in Wilmington because it’s hard for her to ride in a vehicle for that long after all day in appointments and treatments. I haven’t been able to work much because it’s a full-time job taking care of Reanna. That being said, being able to make an income has been very difficult. The main three expenses that this platform would alleviate for us would be gas for transportation back and forth to Wilmington, food, and lodging when necessary. Thankfully, we stay at the SECU house which is only 50 a night….. And they are directly across the street from her appointments. We would greatly appreciate your help more than you can imagine. This platform literally saved us back in 2023!!!!
Thank you again for your consideration and support!
