Hello Dear Friends,

Thank you for taking a pause and allowing me to tell you my friend Yahia’s story. As you may be well aware of the dire situation in Gaza, I feel compelled to take more actions than words to give a hand as much as I can to anyone in there. I truly believe I’m not a minority here. I know so many of you feel the same so without taking anymore of your time, here are direct words from Yahia, unedited and uncensored:

* My name is Yahya Iyad Hamad, I work as a nurse and I didn’t finish my studies because of the war. Before the war, I was preparing for a beautiful life – a wedding, a house. But the war shattered all that. I got married before the war, and God blessed us with a beautiful baby boy. And another baby girl during the war named Judy She was born to the sound of bombing and turmoil instead of lullabies. What should have been joy has become endless pain. Raids, hunger, and fear. There is a lack of balance due to malnutrition, and he cannot buy milk, diapers, or even baby clothes. My mother is suffering from a health crisis, shortness of breath, and is starving. My father needs treatment for a minor injury to his abdomen. A quadcopter dropped a different type of bomb, causing severe injury to his legs, and he is in urgent need of treatment. The matter is urgent. Every day is a struggle for survival – for food , for warmth , for life ❤

Before the war on the Gaza Strip began, I was studying nursing at Al-Azhar University in central Gaza City. I was 20 years old. While studying, I met a girl and married her. I was extremely happy. Two months after my marriage, expenses had increased, so I dropped out of school.

Things were very difficult. I borrowed money from my mother. My mother sold some of the gold she had been hiding for a long time. I rented a shop and started a plumbing, electrical, and construction supplies business. The start of the project was very difficult, and I dedicated three years of my life to this project and achieved great success. I wanted to return the money to my mother, complete my studies, and provide for my family.. But on a day I will never forget throughout my life, it was Saturday, October 7, 2023. It was the day the war and the great catastrophe, the October 7 war, began. The brutal Israeli army bombed and destroyed my city, my home, and my beautiful project, and deported us at night with bomb We were displaced to UNRWA schools so that I could protect my family. I stayed in the schools for a week, and one dark night the planes brutally destroyed the school I was in. We ran from the planes while people’s blood was flowing. My children, my mother and my wife ran in the streets looking for safety. We slept in the street at night. In the morning my mother sold her gold ring, which was all that was left of it, to give it to the car driver to take us to the south of Gaza, where the occupation was telling us there was safety.

We were displaced to the south and lived for 6 months, living on humanitarian aid inside the camp, until the crossings were closed and the occupation controlled aid, the entry of food and all the necessities of life, and prevented the entry of food. Life became extremely difficult, and I was unable to work during that period. Everything was cut off from aid. The bakeries were closed, and the gas was cut off. Milk and all food supplies were cut off. I was unable to support my beautiful family. We remained in this condition for a whole month.was very sad for my mother, my wife and my children. I wanted to help them live. I would wake up early and go to the houses that had been destroyed by the occupation. I would collect some wood and firewood. I would sell some of it to buy canned food. A can of beans cost $9. I would also light some fires to cook something to satisfy their hunger.

Now every day is a great suffering. Please save me and my family from the famine and genocide that the occupation is practicing against us in Gaza.

Please dear friends, any little amount of your donation saves a life. It may be worth a cup of tea for you, but it’s worth a day’s meal for this family.
