Story

Help Support the Armstead, Carpenter, and Thirkill Families in Memory of Ava
It is with broken hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden passing of 15-year-old Ava Armstead, a vibrant young soul from Lima, Ohio. Ava was a shining light at Lima Central Catholic High School—a dedicated student, a passionate volleyball player, and a beloved friend to many. Her unexpected loss has left her family, friends, teammates, and the entire community in deep sorrow.
Ava was more than just a student or athlete. She was the heartbeat of every room she entered—known for her infectious smile, kind spirit, and the quiet strength she carried with her on and off the volleyball court. Whether it was helping a friend in need, lifting a teammate’s spirits, or simply spreading joy with her presence, Ava made an impact that will never be forgotten.
Her dedication to excellence was evident in everything she did—from her strong academic performance to her commitment on the volleyball team. Coaches, teachers, and classmates alike admired her positivity, her leadership, and the way she led by example.
Ava came from a close, loving family who supported her every step of the way. Now, as they face this unimaginable loss, we want to surround them with the same support and love that Ava so freely gave to others.
This fundraiser has been created to help the family with funeral expenses and any other financial burdens they may face during this heartbreaking time. Your contribution—no matter the amount—will help ease the weight of this tragedy and give the family the space to grieve and begin the long road toward healing.
We invite you to share this fundraiser, send your love, and keep Ava’s memory alive through kindness and community.
Thank you for standing with the Armstead, Carpenter and Thirkill families ❤️
