“My name is Samah Al-Shaer, a resident of Palestine, specifically from Gaza. Today, I bring you a story that reflects resilience, survival, and the indomitable human spirit amidst adversity. In Gaza, my family of five and I found ourselves immersed in the chaos of war that broke out on October 7th. Scenes of bombing, destruction, and forced displacement became our harsh reality, which led us to make the painful decision to leave our home in search of safety. But the crossing was closed before we traveled and Gaza, once a place we called home, has been transformed into an inhospitable environment, stripped of the basic necessities of life. So we seek to travel and create a new life because the basic elements of life – shelter, food and security – have been cruelly taken from us. In the wake of this disruption, I witnessed the loss of almost everything that defined our existence.

Gaza no longer felt safe, which left me fiercely determined to build a new life for my family outside Gaza, away from the constant specter of war. Your contribution, no matter how small, will serve as a beacon of hope for my family. It represents a step towards a brighter future, free from the constant threats that plague us in Gaza. I am so grateful for your concern and support during this difficult time. Your generosity will have a profound impact on our lives.

We have survived death many times, but we still need support to rebuild our lives and recover from the devastation we have suffered. Our house was destroyed and my husband lost his job. Resources on Earth are scarce, and I could use your help. I am raising money to help my family cover our basic needs for the next few months: •Housing •Food •Routine Medical Care (vaccinations, checkups, health checks, etc.) •Education •Etc. These things are not provided to us for free. We remain vulnerable to hunger, health conditions and emotional suffering from the massacre we survived.”

Everyone knows that we are exposed to the most severe types of starvation and oppression. We are living in a very catastrophic humanitarian situation. My children have slept many nights crying from hunger. My heart aches for them. I appeal to you and appeal to your humanity to stay by my family. We do not want to die from hunger The war of starvation is more difficult than the war of bombing. I am pregnant with my baby girl after waiting for her for 6 years. I suffer from malnutrition and weak blood units. I need food and medicine for my little girl who has not seen the light until this moment to survive. I also thank you for your help. Please listen to us. Don’t ignore us. Today we are not well in Gaza. Death is everywhere. Hunger and oppression are eating away at our bodies. Even my children have changed and lost a lot of weight due to malnutrition. There is no healthy food or clean water, and the prices are very high. Don’t we deserve a little support from you to provide for our children’s basic needs? Even I am pregnant with a child who needs healthy food, and I cannot provide that here alone. I suffer from a calcium deficiency. Some of my teeth have fallen out and I have anemia. My blood count is only 9. I cannot provide the food that strengthens me and I cannot buy medicine to preserve my fetus because of the situation. We have run out of all our credit to buy canned food that is not considered healthy for us. Please help me and my children to live even with a little of your donations for the sake of my fetus and my children, Waseem, Safaa and Marwa. They love you very much and have great hope in you.
