Support a Syrian Refugee Family in Vancouver

Hi friends,
I have created an official fundraising page for donations to support the Syrian family in Vancouver with whom I have been in contact since 2019, when they first arrived as refugees via Lebanon.The family members I am specifically supporting are a young couple whose 1-year-old child has a rare metabolic disorder. They are no longer receiving any settlement support, and are struggling to stay afloat as young parents caring for their child. Frequent hospital stays have also made it difficult for them to sustain regular work. All donations will go directly to covering the costs of food, rent, medication, hospital parking and other necessary supplies. It would particularly mean a lot to me if you could commit to a monthy donation of 5$ or more – even 5$ absolutely makes a difference, and smaller recurring donations provide more sustainable support than one-time donations!

The family has asked me to share today that they are in the hospital with their baby again, which unfortunately means lost income as well as additional costs just before rent is due. I was able to send them 350$ this month thanks to donations made here, which is significantly more than I am usually able to, so thank you so much to everyone who has donated – this has gone towards costs like diapers and baby clothing, and helps them pay their rent. They are still short on rent for the month, so I am adding this update as I share the fundraiser again before the end of the month. Much gratitude from all of us!
