Querida familia, amigos y comunidad:
Con el corazón en la mano, les pedimos su apoyo para nuestra amada Alicia Plaza, quien está enfrentando la batalla más dura de su vida: un cáncer de páncreas con metástasis. Alicia vive en Panamá y, desde hace más de 30 años, ha dedicado su vida a cultivar bromelias, convirtiéndolo en, más que un sustento económico, una pasión y estilo de vida. Es el pilar de una familia hermosa, conformada por sus dos hijas, su yerno, sus hermanos y sus adorados nietos, quienes la rodean con amor, fuerza y esperanza en cada paso de este camino tan difícil.
A pesar del diagnóstico devastador, Alicia no ha perdido su fe ni su luz. Actualmente se encuentra recibiendo tratamiento de quimioterapia y cuidados paliativos, con el deseo de poder seguir estando junto a su familia el mayor tiempo posible, con calidad de vida y rodeada de amor. Sin embargo, los gastos médicos son abrumadores y superan las posibilidades de su familia. Necesitamos reunir $15,000 dólares, destinados a cubrir tratamientos, consultas, medicamentos y cuidados necesarios.
Nuestra madre Alicia no solo ha sido una mujer fuerte y luchadora, sino también profundamente generosa. Durante años ha ayudado a todo aquel que lo necesitaba: a sus hermanos, a sus familiares, a sus amigos, y a cualquier persona que requería una mano amiga. Hoy, es ella quien necesita nuestra ayuda.
Por eso, recurrimos a todos ustedes: amigos, conocidos, y personas de buen corazón que han sido parte de su vida o que simplemente quieran extender una mano solidaria. With heavy hearts and hopeful spirits, we’re reaching out to ask for your support for someone incredibly dear to us — our beloved aunt, Alicia Plaza, who is facing the toughest battle of her life: metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Alicia lives in Panama and, for over 30 years, has dedicated her life to cultivating bromeliads—turning it into more than just a source of income, but a passion and a way of life. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and receiving palliative care, hoping to spend as much time as possible with her loved ones — with dignity, love, and quality of life. But the medical costs are overwhelming, and they go far beyond what we as a family can manage. We are hoping to raise $15,000 USD to help cover treatments, doctor visits, medications, and essential care.
Our aunt has always been strong, loving, and profoundly generous. For years, she has helped anyone in need — her siblings, relatives, friends, even strangers. Today, she is the one who needs a helping hand.
