Please Help to Bring Our Sweet Avery Home!!!
Hi, my name is Cynthia Walker and I am requesting funds to help cover medical expenses and transportation back home to Louisiana for a very special young lady, Avery Celeste Foster.
The morning of May 7, 2025 started out as a typical school day for Avery. She arrived at her Colorado school where she has been working for the past 3 years. Always eager to see the smiles and faces of the many students she worked with on a daily basis as a Literacy Coach, Avery stated that she was where she wanted to be although it was hundreds of miles away from her family and friends in southern Louisiana. Shortly after her arrival to campus on that day, there was a school assembly and it was here where she would begin to feel ill. Avery began to have trouble breathing. She passed out among her students and peers. School personnel administered CPR and our sweet Avery regained consciousness until EMT’s arrived; but as she was being transported to the hospital, she lost consciousness again. Emergency personnel performed life-saving techniques on her for almost 40 minutes while enroute to the hospital. She had developed a blood clot which went from her lungs to her heart. The blood clot was too big for the heart to pump through and that had caused her to go into cardiac arrest. Upon arrival to the hospital, Avery was placed in the Cardiac Intensive Unit on life support and given medication to paralyze her body. She was heavily sedated. Neurologists stated that she has brain damage but doesn’t know the extent. She has began to breathe a little on her own with the assistance of a ventilator and was moved out of CIU into the Medical Intensive Care Unit.
Although Avery has shown small progress over the past few days, she still has a very long road to recovery.
We would love to bring Avery home so her family and friends can visit and support her throughout her recovery. Her family is trying to get her transferred from the hospital in Aurora, Colorado to a long-term acute care facility (hopefully in New Orleans or Baton Rouge, LA). Although Avery has private health insurance, it will not cover the transport cost as she will need special transportation because of the ventilator she has been placed on.
Ephesians 3:20 – “Now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to his power that works in us.”
Please help bring our Avery home where she belongs by donating. Thank You.
