Help Barbie Fight Leukemia and Support Her Family
Dear Friends, Family, and Fellow Kind Hearted Humans,
We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts to ask for your support for someone very special—Barbie, a loving mother, a devoted school employee, and a bright and funny light in our community—who has recently been diagnosed with acute leukemia.
Barbie is the proud mother of 3 children,
2 being teenage boys that are still under her care. She works tirelessly to provide for them, holding two jobs. Many of you know her as a security guard at an elementary school. Despite her long days, Barbie always shows up with a smile and an open heart. She is one of those rare people who makes everyone feel seen and valued.
If you’ve ever been to our school, you’ve heard Barbie’s voice greeting every student by name, checking in on them, offering a word of encouragement, or cracking a joke that makes everyone laugh. She has a natural warmth, a quick wit, and a playful sense of humor that lights up the room. Barbie talks to everyone, helps wherever she can, and has a special gift for lifting the spirits of those around her—even on the toughest days.
Now, Barbie needs our help.
She is currently hospitalized and undergoing an intensive 5-week chemotherapy treatment as part of her fight against acute leukemia. This phase requires full-time care in the hospital, as her immune system is compromised and her body works to recover. After this, Barbie will begin a 6-month outpatient chemotherapy regimen, which will continue to impact her ability to work and care for her family.
Barbie’s illness has placed an enormous financial burden on her shoulders. While she focuses on healing, she is unable to work—and we don’t yet know how long she’ll need to be out of work. That’s why we are rallying together to raise funds to help cover:
Hospital and medical expenses
Her mortgage and living expenses
Support for her two sons—including food, clothing, school needs, and all costs associated with their care.
Basic necessities for Barbie during this difficult journey.
Barbie has spent her life looking out for others.
Now it’s our turn to look out for her.
