My name is Ahmed Al-Najjar, from Palestine, specifically from besieged Gaza. My name is Ahmed, I am 15 years old. I was a student at school, where I organized my time between studying and raising birds of all kinds. This was my talent, so I would buy many types of birds, provide them with appropriate food, and provide them with careful care. I would put them in a safe and organized place. But overnight, the situation turned upside down. It was 6:00 a.m. when I woke up to go to school. I heard explosions in more than one place at the same time. That’s when I knew that war had broken out. I quickly got up and took my birds. My family and I left our house and went to another house belonging to a relative. I put the birds in a safe place and reassured them. I never neglected them. I provided them with everything from care and food. I stayed at my relatives’ house for several days. By then, I had lost my home, my studies, and everything I owned, even my dreams. After several days, due to the deteriorating situation and the continuous bombing, my family and I fled the place under the weight of fire and the horror of the The events led me to be unable to take my birds. They stayed at my relatives’ house, but unfortunately, I learned two days later that they had been targeted where they were and had all died. This wasn’t the last disaster. These disasters continued one after the other, as I was displaced from place to place without the bare necessities of life: no place, no water, no food. Our simplest dreams became finding shelter and clean food. To this day, I still suffer from repeated displacement and the loss of everything I own, from my studies and my birds to food and shelter. We have become malnourished. My dream is to live in peace in a clean house with good food, while taking care of my young birds.
This is my home that was destroyed by the occupation without mercy or compassion. They did not leave any meanings that indicate that they love mercy and humanity. This is injustice and a human disaster. They changed the features of the street that leads to our place of residence .
