Short Story
United States
Hello My Friends,
The Peacock Team was formed by Hamza Ahmed, a nurse in Gaza. Himself displaced, Nurse Hamza sees the immense needs of many other displaced families that aren’t being met.
This campaign was created to distinguish Nurse Hamza’s community fundraising from his family’s personal campaign. They are separate campaigns!
The Peacock Team is led by Nurse Hamza and assisted by Abdul Aziz and Baraa. They are planning several initiatives to help meet the urgent needs of their neighbors.
Starting with the distribution of clean water and subject to change, the growing list includes:
1. Water Distribution: 15.000L = $500
2. Food Distribution: $1000
3. Diapers Distribution: $2000
4. Cash Distribution: TBD
5. Community Solar Panels: $5000
Thank you for your solidarity!!

Hello Dear Friends,
Thank you for continuing to be by Nurse Hamza’s side. He and the Peacock Team have set a new goal in order to meet a dire need in North Gaza. The current goal is the delivery of Diapers and Milk to families. The number of families that can be served depends on the amount of donations raised.
Your support can help us to serve as many families as possible. At this time, one pack of diapers typically costs $150 USD (300 shekels) and usually includes 30 diapers. One can of baby formula/milk costs $100 USD (200 shekels). Please keep in mind that cost and availability can and do often change based on several factors that include but are not limited to the ongoing Israeli blockade of goods, food, and humanitarian aid; theft; and merchant markup/pricegauging.
Here is a snapshot:
$150 = 1 pack of diapers
$100 = 1 can of formula
$250 = 1 pack of diapers AND 1 can of formula
This means that $2500 raised would provide 10 families with diapers and milk.
Please help us reach our goal to serve as many families as possible with diapers and formula. Your support can come in many forms: a one-time donation, setting up recurring donations, and sharing the Peacock Team story and campaign link with your peoples.
Your continued solidarity matters so much. On behalf of Nurse Hamza, thank you for supporting his efforts to uplift his community in the ways that he can, when he is able.
In solidarity,
Beth

Hello Dear Friends!
This is an update from Beth, the campaign manager for The Peacock Team and Nurse Hamza. The Peacock Team has been working to meet the fundraising goal for their third mission. Due to the scarcity of food items currently available in Gaza (see attached video), The Team has changed the mission from providing food baskets to providing direct cash assistance to families. The total fundraising goal for this mission is $3000 = $2000 cash to be divided between 20 families, plus $1000 to cover the money transfer and conversion fees. It is important to note that every transfer of money from me to Hamza incurs a commission and/or a transfer fee. The value of the shekel also fluctuates widely, dictating how much usable money Hamza is left with once it is received. On Hamza’s end, he must also pay a withdrawal fee, which sometimes equals 1/3 of the amount he withdraws.
So far, The Team has raised the $2000 for cash distribution and is working on achieving the $1000 for to cover the commissions/fees for the transfer of money. Please continue to support their vital efforts and give what and when you can. Every amount makes a difference!
Your continued support of Nurse Hamza and The Peacock Team is literally a lifeline for families facing extremely difficult circumstances that include but are not limited to displacement, starvation, violence, and death.
On behalf of The Peacock Team and Nurse Hamza, thank you from my whole heart for your compassion and generosity. Your actions matter so much.
In Steadfast Solidarity,
Beth

Hello My Friends!
The Peacock Team has been hard at work serving our neighbors. Much has happened since our last campaign update. The temporary ceasefire occurred and many families, including Nurse Hamza’s, moved from the displacement camps in an effort to return home. Most have found not only homes, but entire neighborhoods, destroyed. Nurse Hamza and family returned to North Gaza to find their home a shell of what it once was: barely standing, filled with and surrounded by rubble and debris, entire walls missing or blown apart, and without the infrastructure of plumbing, water, gas, or electricity.
Despite their devastating losses, The Peacock Team raised $1000 and, on 25 February, provided direct cash distribution of $100 (equivalent to 300 shekels at the time of exchange and distribution) each to 10 families with exceptional need in North Gaza. This vital assistance would not have been possible without the support and dedication of people like you, and we graciously thank our generous donors for helping to make it possible.
The Team’s current initiative is to raise $2000 to provide food for 20 families experiencing extreme hardship in North Gaza. The cost of goods, including food, has steeply risen in recent weeks due to a blockade of aid and goods allowed in. Conversely, the value of the shekel has dropped, straining even further the ability of families to access and afford their essential needs. Your support during this time is needed more than ever and is deeply appreciated.
For those following the progess of our goals, please note that the initiative for community solar panels has been deferred due to the urgent need for food in North Gaza. This pivot was not foreseen but resulted from the unexpected blockade that was imposed and remains to date. We intend to resume the solar panel initiative when it becomes feasible.
