Help Tricia Spangler-Gracey Fight Rare Kidney Disease

Hi, my name is Maria Spangler, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister-in-law, Tricia Spangler-Gracey, who is facing a sudden and devastating health crisis.

Tricia has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive autoimmune kidney disease known as dual-positive ANCA vasculitis and anti-GBM disease. Within days, her kidneys deteriorated rapidly. She is now undergoing dialysis, plasma exchange, and high-dose immunosuppressive therapy. Doctors have confirmed that her kidneys have already suffered over 80% permanent damage.

Tricia is a devoted wife, a loving mother to twin 16-year-old daughters, and someone who always shows up for the people in her life. She’s self-employed, and due to the severity of her illness, she won’t be able to work for the foreseeable future—if at all.

Her husband, Matt, is a touring guitar technician who has worked in the live music industry for more than 30 years. As a contractor, he doesn’t have access to paid leave or employer-backed health insurance. In order to keep the family afloat, Matt must continue to travel for work, often far from Tricia and their girls during the most difficult period of their lives.

Tricia is in the process of applying for Social Security Disability (SSDI), but those benefits take time to be approved. This fundraiser is meant to help bridge the financial gap—to ease the burden while the family waits for longer-term support.

All donations will go directly to Tricia and her family to help with:
• Medical bills not covered by insurance
• Dialysis and immunosuppressive treatment costs
• Temporary in-home care and transportation
• Household and living expenses while Matt is on the road
• Stability and support for their daughters

This is not a short road, but we believe Tricia has the strength—and with your help, the support—she needs to keep going.
