Tuan’s Fight: Community’s Turn to Give Back

If you’ve lived in the Kirkland community, chances are you’ve had your life positively impacted by Sim and Tuan Nguyen and their family. From coaching and constantly volunteering during the Kirkland American Little League years to Sim fearlessly founding and leading the LW Junior Kangs Cheer program (and attending every single game with snacks, a tent, and her relentless care and optimism), and Coach Tuan giving his time and energy to our Redmond Dudes family, Sim and Tuan are known as community members who are always giving to others. Carpool, snacks, and their precious time–they view our Kirkland community as family and are always there to say “yes” when someone needs help.

The Nguyen family is now facing a challenging season of recovery as Tuan unexpectedly experienced a stroke on May 23. He is “a fighter” per Sim, and we all know this already. Tuan is already showing encouraging signs of recovery, but still has a long road of rehabilitation ahead. This is our chance to give back to the Nguyen family, who have poured so much into our community and our kids, to assist with medical expenses, lost income, and other costs during Tuan’s recovery. Let’s get Tuan back in the dugout with the Dudes where he belongs!
