https://sadik-o.com - refugees and asylum seeekers - Undies for refugee children

Short Story

Wrexham, Wales, United Kingdom

Refugees are still arriving via the Med, but are stuck as most of them can´t move on. This means a miserable winter and often not being provided with the bare minimum. A lot of these people are traumatised, which especially in children can have long term physical effects.

People have been sending second hand clothes, but can you imagine not having any underwear? Reasonable coat, but no knickers? Not that there enough coates either, but that is a separate issue. Laundry facilities are limited and undies have a short life span.

For Xmas and my birthday I would like to buy knickers for refugees, mainly children´s, as many as possible. My friend Lisa Robertson will do the shopping and sending and will feed back receipts.

I am aiming for 2000 pairs of knickers. Children´s undies are most needed, so most of the money will go on little knickers and boy pants.

The only perk we have on offer is the warm, fluffy feeling that a child has a warm, dry bum who otherwise would not. If you don´t know what a cold, wet bum feels like now is the time to find out, just sit in the snow for a while.
