Susanna has been immersed in high-level yoga + meditation training for over twenty-three years, and teaching to a broad spectrum of students for fifteen years. She has touched the lives of many and is a gifted teacher. She has a young son to support.

After birthing her son, her pelvis became misaligned and cartilage has subsequently torn in the hip socket. This means she is unable to bear weight effectively on that leg and can no longer practice or teach yoga. Her greatest concern her spine/musculoskeletal balance, as its starting to distort. Her capacity to provide for her boy is severely curtailed.

Surgery to repair the torn cartilage will set a totally new course. She could get back on the practice mat and back to sharing her life-long training, changing the lives of others. With a functional body, she can bring her decades of yogic development to every class and student. She knows that these arts change our society from the inside out. New practitioners need to learn from those with long experience, so that these traditions pass on as a living flame to the next generation.

Susanna needs to raise $9,500 to fund this hip repair. Please donate in accord with your means and with your inspiration, and see how good generosity feels!

While we don’t have any funky t-shirts or commemorative teaspoons to give away, Susanna’s commitment back to you is to carry the living flame of enlightenment forward in our society. She is actively Being The Change. Her skills have been crafted and honed over many decades, and her return to teaching has the capacity to keep paying it forward.

Living words of love! Thanks my angels! Hey I’ve got great news. Because my practice has been confined to meditation and pranayama, I’ve been making some pretty big discoveries within that sphere. I’m working on spinal adjustments through pranayama, bandha and meditative disciplines. I’d always noticed that my most significant and meaningful spinal adjustments arose through meditation but now I’m really applying myself to codifying and understanding these methods in such a way that I can pass on to others. I think I might be on to something quite big. Tonight I adjusted big energetic pathways in the back of my heart, and of course spinal adjusting always has its overflow into the functioning of organs that are enervated from that area of the spine, not to mention the spiritual significance. So I would like, in the foreseeable future, to convey these ideas through some online material, videos with instruction. I’ve been looking for a way to gift back to my precious supporters, and I think I may have found it….

Susanna you were a great teacher but even a greater presence to be around. You were always calming and genuine with me. Hopefully you get back on the mat after this surgery and it doesn’t deter that amazing spirit!

Dear family, friends and loved ones Firstly, I want to express huge gratitude for the overwhelming support and kindness showered upon me since the inception of this crowdfunding campaign. I am blown away by the generosity, the kindness, the confidence, and the messages of support & love. Phew, talk about a heart-opener. It has been a BIG process of education and affirmation for me, to see how community cares and heals. I will definitely be paying every last scrap of kindness forward when all of this is done. I need to explain a necessary change/adjustment to the campaign final goal. The original quotes/estimates of the surgery costs were communicated in such a way that it was not at all apparent that the hospital fee was a separate figure and not represented. Looking back now at the correspondence, with the gift of hindsight, I can see the ambiguity and how my error arose. Because of this oversight, it is necessary for me to now adjust the end goal, taking this additional expense into account. The main purpose of this message is to tell you about this change, to prevent any confusion from arising: you’ll see that I have adjusted the end $ goal on the campaign page. The campaign has already bought in a remarkable sum of over $4,000, which is completely amazing and has by far exceeded my wildest dreams. I would so appreciate any sharing out of the link (below) through social media channels, messages out to friends and colleagues, shared posts, so that donations can continue to build throughout the weekend and, come Monday, we can hit the ground running and gather momentum. And big love to those of you unable to contribute financially at this time but support me in your hearts: your well-wishing means the world to me, and I’ve simply sent you this message for the sake of clarity. With deep ocean of gratitude for your support love and understanding, where would I be without you all….

Hey Susanna, we hope you’ll be getting well very soon again. It’s criminal not having you teach yoga! We really miss you and your classes and hope to see you & Gabriel soon again. Em & Mo

Private surgery is the only way forward with this op. Arthroscopic labral tear repair is a very recently developed surgery, less than five years old, and there are few surgeons able to do it. I have been sternly warned to not let just any one go near this injury, as the poat-surgery outcomes are very very poor if the surgeon is inexperienced. With a highly specialised surgeon (spearheading this kind of work) I will definitely have a vastly improved prognosis. I’m told that some surgeries are hard to bugger up, and any old plumber will do, but that this particular repair is not like that.

Feeling incredibly blown away by this whole process. I hadn’t predicted the heart-opening factor. This last year has been a mighty tough one, and now I find myself suddenly in the midst of an avalanche of well-wishing and practical support. Incredibly moved folks. I currently have an abundance to give on the level of mentoring practical methods for stress relief (because, franky, I’ve needed it myself). If you (or anyone you love) could benefit from a Skype session to develop some stress-busting, energy building methods (essentially yoga-derivative breathing techniques with a few add-ons) then please make contact with me and we can schedule. I need to pay this generosity forward.
