Just over two years ago my life completely changed, overnight I went from being a fit and healthy man playing football every weekend (twice if possible) to a 46 kilo skeleton in an induced coma while my body slowly digested itself. I spent the next four months in hospital with over a month of that in intensive care. I underwent over 60 hours of surgery and so many CT scans I’m fairly sure i now glow in the dark.

If it wasn’t for the fact that Royal North Shore hospital has dedicated and brilliant staff and the most up to date medical equipment the chances are I wouldn’t be here sitting on my sofa typing this right now.

The Kolling Foundation is the official fundraising partner of the Northern Sydney Local Health District including Royal North Shore Hospital, Ryde Hospital and the Kolling Research Institute.

They work in partnership with our hospitals and research unit to raise much needed funds so they can continue to provide the best in patient care and to drive a research agenda that aims to find tangible solutions to the real-world health problems that are impacting our community.

Unfortunately we were unable to go ahead with our planned Gala Day but I still have a strong desire to thank the people that saved my life and with that in mind we’re holding a raffle with some great prizes,

Entries are $10 and are on sale until 12th November midday.
